Frequently Asked Questions

Walk-ins are always welcomed, however, reservations are highly recommended so that you get the boat best suited for your plans on the water and reserve the time you desire.

No, a deposit is not required to rent any peice of equipment.

We understand that plans change. With 48 hours notice, you may reschedule or request a refund. Less than 48 hours notice may request a reschedule but may not request a refund. No shows are not rescheduled or refunded. If bad weather is the issue, we will re-book you for a better day in the future.

Locations may close when sustained winds exceed 20 mph and/or thunderstorms are in the area. Reservations originally planned to take place during closure may rebook or request a refund.

Boat Rental

All you need to rent a boat is a driver’s license, major credit card, adequate previous boating experience and be at least 21 years of age. If you were born in or after 1988 you must have a boat license or Safe Boating Card.

Florida law states that anyone born on or after Jan 1, 1988, must have a boating license. Take the temporary test online quickly and easily. 30 MINUTE ONLINE TEST. GOOD FOR 90 DAYS IN FLORIDA ONLY. THE COST IS $9. https://boattests101.com/register/florida-rental

A qualified operator will have operated a similar-in-length and similar-in-power boat on tidal and navigable waters (non-lake) safely and properly on a consistent basis for at least the 2 prior years with thorough navigational and operational knowledge and experience. If a customer arrives and is unable to prove they’re qualified the rental cost is not refunded.

We would be happy to recommend one of many local charter captains who can drive a boat for you. Certain locations may offer charters on site.

All the boats have tops, stereos, and all required Coast Guard Safety equipment. Coolers are available upon request and some locations offer ice for purchase. We also go over a chart of the local waterways with you before you leave the docks and point out area highlights that you may want to explore.

No, fuel is not included with your rental and will be charged at the end of your reservation.

All boats have the standard insurance required to operate. Any damages incurred are charged the cost of repair without upcharge.

Our only requirements are that boats must stay inshore along the Intracoastal Waterway and other marked channels. You can go as far away from the dock, of course keeping in mind return time. Our boats may NOT be operated offshore and each inlet has a point at which you may not cross.

Paddleboard and Kayak Rentals

There is no set age requirement however all participants must be able to swim and must be able to paddle alone, safely. For this reason we do not recommend kids under 6 to paddle. All minors must be accompanied.

The only requirement we have is that all items stay inshore and do not go into the ocean. Each location has recommendations as to which direction is best to go. You may also take kayaks and paddleboards offsite to launch elsewhere, but we don’t recommend this as it takes up rental time and we also won’t be there to help you launch.
